PsychoticSurge is an independent educational project dedicated to demystifying neurodivergence and mental health experiences through the lens of philosophy, culture, and lived understanding.

We started this site because so much public conversation about mental differences is shaped by fear, stigma, or oversimplified clinical language — and we believe there’s room for another kind of conversation.

Drawing on thinkers who spent their careers questioning how societies define “madness,” reason, and difference — including Deleuze, Guattari, Foucault, and Derrida — we explore alternative frameworks for understanding neurodivergent experience: not as deficit, but as difference worth taking seriously.

What we offer:

  • Articles and resources exploring neurodivergency, stigma, and philosophical perspectives on mental health and difference
  • Community conversations — informal, peer-style discussions where people can explore philosophical ideas relevant to their own experience, hosted in a casual “open hours” format
  • Ongoing content as this project grows

What we are not:

PsychoticSurge is not a clinical service, crisis line, or substitute for therapy, psychiatric care, or medical treatment. Our community conversations are peer discussions, not counseling, and are not led by licensed mental health professionals. If you are in crisis or need clinical support, please contact a licensed provider or a crisis line in your area.

We’re early — this project is actively growing, and we’re building it thoughtfully rather than quickly. If our approach resonates with you, we’d love to have you along.
